Best place I’ve stayed in Vietnam! An is so generous and friendly. The place is amazing. Food is excellent. I did the loop (4 days) with Công, such a life time experience! An's house is perfectly located, on the outskirts of Ha Giang and also close to the most used motorbike rentals. The homestay is decorated mostly with wood, from your room you have beautiful views of the rice fields and there is a kind of Zen atmosphere. You can meditate in the garden. An is very nice, speaks very good English and is very helpful. She can also cook very well and for VND 150,000/pp you can join her for dinner. This homestay is an absolute counterpart to the massive youth hostels like Mamas. An's house has excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Une adresse à recommander: homestay situé un peu à l’écart du centre ville, au calme. Chambres joliment décorées, donnant sur les rizières. Très propres. La propriétaire est une excellente cuisinière. Un rapport qualité prix imbattable.

Für die Herzlichkeit, Hilfsbreitschaft und den Service würde ich gerne 10 Sterne geben. An und ihr Team waren wundervoll! Das Essen super lecker und familiär, haben mich nach der Loop-Tour auch nochmal duschen lassen und wegen der Hitze gabs ein Eis und Maracujasaft :) An hat auch eine eigene kleine Reiseagentur, wo man private Touren buchen kann. Ha Giang, Vietnam Hey there! This is Lou, a 29-year-old Salvadoran who has been backpacking for a little more than 5 months now. First through East Africa, and now in Southeast Asia. I’m still processing my last 2 weeks at An’s House, Ha Giang, Vietnam, which I can honestly say has been the most magical homestay of my entire backpacking journey. Thanks to An, Cuong, Daysi and Loop (my hosts) and the friends I met there, I got to experience what felt like an authentic side of Ha Giang. It’s the way they are not just a team, but also a family. You really get to witness how they pour their heart into this project, and so you are not just a customer, you are part of their family. You can feel it; in how they go out of their way to take care of you, share dinner with you, and take you on trips for the sake of you experiencing their beloved land, and sharing with local communities. Those 2 weeks, and specially my last day there, I’ll keep in my heart. If I had to sum up the last 5 months in 1 day, my last day in Ha Giang, our trip to Nam Thom, thon Lung Chang, would be it. And Cuong (my hosts), are exploring a new trail to Nam Thom, thon Lung Chang; a beautiful untouched landscape of vast mountain ranges, peaceful villages and a hidden waterfall. They took me to try it out. It was Cuong and me on a motorbike. As we entered the mountain range, I grew with excitement. This is what I’m looking for, this is what makes me happy. Clean air, tall trees, silence, and witnessing small glimpses of the people’s real and precious life. After a 1-hour drive we parked the motorbike and started walking. I was in awe. Mountains, big walls of ancient rock, a beautiful gigantic tree. Cuong is a natural photographer and filmmaker and took some pictures and videos of me howling to the mountains, enjoying my inner wild child. We said hi to some kids cycling along the way, and some families. Cuong said I got lucky that day. I agree. We passed by a house where a group of women were taking a break from working on the rice field, and in an honest welcoming gesture, they invited us to join for lunch. They shared their rice, beef, seafood, veggies, and of course, happy water with us. No Vietnamese on my side, buy I can say many laughs and smiles were exchanged. Felt like my very own March’s non-verbal Women Circle. A lady in the next house was finishing a traditional wedding dress she’s been crafting for a year now. She tried it on me. Twin, a teenage boy from the village, spontaneously decided to join us, as we made our way walking to the waterfall. As we passed by different stretches of the waterfall and the river, to our surprise, Twin kept walking up and up, he wanted us to see IT! His secret place, where the waterfall begins. I was tired and thrilled, barefoot trekking some parts, and harmlessly landing on my butt a couple of times. Felt like a happy kid! We made it. A tall, majestic waterfall. I was so grateful we didn’t stop earlier. This is what I was hoping for, and even more. So, I jump into the water. Clean, refreshing, light. After a few minutes I went out, and we had tea. Cuong is always prepared. Finally, a blue butterfly landed on my backpack and then my shoulder. Felt like life saying the transformation I’ve been going through in this journey, is real. Một nơi nghỉ ngơi an yên và ấm lòng đến từ chị Hoài, a Cường và nhân viên của homestay. Không những thế, mọi người còn hỗ trợ tư vấn nhiệt tình và chuyến phượt đầu tiên cho vợ chồng chúng em. Hà Giang thật đẹp cũng nhờ một phần giúp đỡ của chị. Cảm ơn chị rất nhiều. Highly recommended!
